I’m kind of loving lace right now. Lace is just such a bargain to knit that I can’t resist it. I mean, a 300g dress! And the short version of my Date Night top was 100g, bananas! Of course, my idea of lace is mostly easy mindless lace. I’m working on another project with complicated lace that I actually have to think about, and it’s not nearly as fun, though it’s satisfying to watch it emerge (it’s also knit flat, so bleh, too much purling!).

More Splash (thanks to Charlene for modeling for me!):

In other news, the heat finally broke, after a torturous 111° on Tuesday. And today: rain! I’d almost forgotten what it was.

Oh, and the Spinners Control Cards are back in stock!

That’s gorgeous and looks so soft and light!

Love this pattern and have the perfect yarn for it in my stash. I live in a rural remote area and cannot get the circular needles.

I am trying to convert this pattern to flat knitting but cannot calculate how many stitches the pattern has at the finished bottom edge. Do you have this pattern available for flat knitting?

  • Nikol says:

Afraid not. You’ll be on your own, but you might try CO half the stitches + an extra 2 on either end & just working half at a time, then seaming both sides. It’s very simple construction, so that should work out okay. But you’ll do a lot of purling.

I’d save yourself the trouble and buy the circs online! Get knit picks or hiya hiya needles if you want keep costs down: they’re both cheap!
