My Socks on Knitty! (And they’re worsted!)

I’m very excited to have a pattern in the new knitty: Sweetheart Socks! (one of FIVE on ravelry by that name, yikes!)

I’m really proud of this pattern. It has a cable of my own design, it’s easy and fast to knit, and best of all, they are truly my favorite handknit socks to wear. I love them, period, but I especially love them for the way the hearts peep through my Dansko mary janes.

I’ve got so many irons in the fire right now, I feel like I’m on the brink of exploding! I’m adding a few flourishes to a new book proposal and finishing up a new pattern for Craftzine and getting ready for Jacey’s Insubordiknit workshop this weekend and cleaning up the pdfs on the hat patterns I taught last weekend. Plus I have half a dozen other patterns in progress that I want to finish up and publish, and lots of personal odds & ends. That little outburst made me feel a bit better, though! Time to have another cup of coffee and keep my head down!

  1. I finished the Sweetheart socks on the weekend and enjoyed every bit of the process of knitting them. The pattern was well laid out and very easy to follow and the result is every bit as good as I could have hoped. I ought to give the socks to my sister – her birthday is next week – but I feel very tempted to keep them for myself! Of course, I could knit another pair…

  2. congratulations on a beautiful sock pattern! I am working on patterns of my own (as well!) and just recently released two on ravelry (look under my rav ID kylewilliam and you’ll see them) – they’re simple hats, but it’s really exciting to be able to release and share projects with the world!

Keep going – LOVE these socks and look forward to seeing more of what you’re up to in the coming months!

  3. Love these socks! I made them in a knee-high for me, and have a second (short) pair on the needles for my mother-in-law (who loved the pattern, too)! Thank you for sharing the pattern.
