The sea of goldenrod and giant ragweed (yes, there’s something called giant ragweed; and it is, in fact, giant) out back are crushing my spirit. And my sinus cavities.
On the bright side, Vampire Knits
is almost out, so I can show off the corset I made last winter! They called it The Prim Reaper’s Corset. I’d’ve gone with Drusilla or skipped the possessive & article, but I didn’t get the power of naming. And I’m just being a word nerd. Anyway, it’s a cute book! I especially like the garments. The hooded sweater on the cover, the boy sweater and some of the lacy pieces are particularly enticing.

Holy crap, a knitted corset that’s actually shaped like a corset, and with enough infrastructure to function as one!
I know! I’m proud of it. It’s linen stitch and linen blend, so it’s about as firm as you can get with knitting. And there’s boning sewn inside.
Love it! I think it is the most interesting pattern in the book, actually.
I’m not into knitting but this corset is so pretty…I love it.
That is absolutely stunning! I was going to ask if it was lined with anything but I can see in one of the photos that it isn’t… which is awesome! I don’t usually buy into the whole vampirey-twilighty thing… but I might need this book :)
