Ah! You were there? I was too. Didn't see you, but I stayed at a hotel with my husband. It was my first time there - and I loved it. Will definitely go back next year.

This is fantastic! My mother and grandmother both hook (my mom teaches) and I just helped run a rug hooking camp out here in CA. Have you checked out The Welcome Mat? It's like Facebook for rug hookers. You have to be invited but I bet someone from your class could do that for you. My grandmother hooks using almost exclusively thrifted wool from clothing and blankets from the thrift store. It's such a frugal way to get those floors covered! Here's my mom's site with a few links to online teachers and other stuff just for fun: http://www.flyingdoghookery.com/

PS I've only been reading your blog for a few weeks now but had to chime in...it's a small world.

Your rug hooking looks great! I started rug hooking almost 10 years ago to the day and still love it! I too love it for the easy meditative quality -- you are so right! It is fun to thrift-store shop for wool too! My daughter is just starting spinning and would have loved the weaving class as well. we both have flickr sites- http://www.flickr.com/photos/studiobeerhorst/
and my daughters' is http://www.flickr.com/photos/rosesandpearls/
