FO: knit.1 ribbed tank (+ another FO I forgot to post!)

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

One more down! Not yet blocked; hopefully that will minimize my occasional weird baggy stitches. Pattern: knit.1 ribbed tank Yarn: Lion Cotton-Ease (discontinued color), about 3 balls, I think. Notes: A nice little tank. Not an exciting knit, but a solid basic with some cute details, and it would be super speedy knit in the […]

FO: Silk Garden Lite Raglan

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

One more WIP down! Pattern: Basic raglan, with graduated decreases/increases shaping at two spot in the back, and 2-color ribbing (corrugated ribbing?) at collar, cuffs & hem, double-stranded cast-on, and slipped-stitch edge at cuffs and hem. Alternating rows from 2 different balls to break up the color transitions a bit. Yarn: Noro Silk Garden Lite […]

FOs: Freddy’s Felted Box + OYTAOL Kitchen!

Friday, February 19th, 2010

This started out as a laptop sleeve for Ron’s macbook early last year. I kept forgetting to felt it, and eventually found a really nice felt laptop case from Julia Hilbrant at Rhinebeck instead. But I’d already lightly felted it, so I couldn’t frog it for my Finish or Frog uberlist item. Instead I crocheted […]

FREE PATTERN: Heartfelt Gaiter/Heartless Gaiter

Friday, February 12th, 2010

If you’re looking for a last-minute Valentine to knit, try my new pattern on Craft! It’s a super bulky cabled gaiter that knits up in about 2 1/2 hours if you’re a confident cable knitter. The heart is nice and subtle, or you can knit the heartless version. The gray one used just one skein […]

Sheep tomorrow! Hat tonight.

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I need to go to bed soon, so I can be all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow morning. I have to staple (big heavy farm staples, not staple-gun staples) a temporary barrier over the open area along/in front of the ramp of our crazy barn. In a perfect world, I’d actually put a gate there instead, […]

FO: November Sweater: Cobblestone

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

I can’t call it officially officially finished, because I think I’m going to need to unravel the sleeves from the cast-on edge an reknit the border (unless Ron decides today he loves overlong sleeves), but it’s done pending unravel & reknit. I don’t use a lot of patterns, so it was fun having the work […]

FREE PATTERN: Karl’s Legwarmers

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I disapprove of legwarmers as a general fashion accessory, but Karl (our resident who departed this morning) is a real live dancer/choreographer, so I was delighted to make him legwarmers. I went with a Flashdance palette in handspun merino: one ply Barbie pink, one ply black. The XOXO cable comes from Adrian Bizila’s Besotted Scarf. […]
